The Peugeot 2008 has the same choice of diesel and petrol engines that are offered in the 208 supermini. Where the vehicle does differ is for its looks, which are rugged, along with it having a driving position that is higher, plus it offers up more room for luggage and passengers.
There is only front-wheel drive available; however, it has the Grip Control system from Peugeot. This means that the system is able to transfer the torque to the wheels at the front to provide more traction when driving in wet conditions.
Grip control is offered in a choice of five settings, Standard, Sand, Snow, Off-Road and ESP off. This comes fitted as standard on the Feline model in the 1.6 petrol or the 1.6 litre manual diesel.
Out of the engines it is the 1.6 e-HDi 92 that is the more efficient; however, you do need to specify it along with the ECC semi-automatic gearing to get under 100g/km of C02.
