The Renault Modus offers five seats, just like the Grand version of it, however, as you might expect it hasn’t got the room of the Grand inside the cabin or the boot.
This doesn’t mean that the Renault Modus is small, far from it, and buyers are able to choose to allocate space to passengers or cargo, thanks to the sliding rear seat system. The rear bench also offers a central seat that may be flipped up, while the outer seats slide in and this means there is more shoulder room with just two in the back.
The Renault Modus offers a drive that is reasonable, with suspension that has been designed totally for comfort. We would have liked the steering to offer more feel and there is a bit of roll around corners, but it is great for driving around the city.
One thing that the Renault Modus isn't short on is Euro NCAP ratings; it managed to get five stars for safety thanks partly to child seat mount points and at least four airbags.
