Anyone looking for a two seater that offers style and with a top that folds to allow the wind to flow through their hair may wish to consider the Renault Wind. The price tag is tempting and there is a range of engines to choose from. At the top end is the 1.6 litre petrol offering 131 horses. It offers a performance that is lively, however, below 4500rpm it may feel a bit on the flat side.
Our choice of engine in the Renault Wind is the 1.2 litre turbocharged, while it offers slightly less by way of performance, with 99 horses, the in-gear flexibility is greater. For a convertible this offers rigidity that impresses and it is a fun drive with body control that is tight.
The engine may not be the quietest, and the 1.6 litre is the one that sounds sporty, but all models are good when it comes to keeping noise to a minimum. With the top down you can expect noise, however, if you have the windows up and a wind deflector in place you will be protected from any buffeting.
