If you are considering the Toyota Yaris you might want to forget about going with the 1.0 litre 68bhp three-cylinder, as it is slow, its noisy and there is a lot of vibration. The 1.4 litre is not much better; this offers 89bhp which gives performance that is decent. In our opinion it is the 1.3 petrol that is the winner, offering up 98 horses, it is smooth and perky.
There is also the Hybrid with the 1.5 petrol to consider, this comes with an electric motor which is quiet at low speed but when briskly accelerating it is raucous. This is also the dearest option for the Toyota Yaris.
Out of the trims on offer we chose the Icon trim as this offers a lot for the money. You can expect a rear view camera, 15 inch alloys, air-con, and an infotainment system and leather steering wheel.
There are many option packs available with all being good value, you may choose to add on parking sensors at the front and back along with LED daytime running lights.
