There is a great deal to like about the Volkswagen Polo, starting from the wide range of engines to choose from, fuel economy that is excellent and the range of trims.
In our opinion one of the best engines in the Volkswagen Polo range is the 1.2 petrol turbodiesel as it is smooth and the drive is a nippy one. Alternatively there is the 1.0 three cylinder in the petrol engine, which cruises along at 70mph happily, but takes its sweet time to get there.
There is a 1.4 and this is fast, but on the downside it is expensive to purchase. If you are up for a VW Polo, however, check out our car finance calculator to get an idea of car loan costs. We also offer hire purchase and personal contract purchase deals too, giving you choice and financial flexibility.
All diesel versions of the Volkswagen Polo offer superb fuel economy, however you do pay a higher price tag to purchase. This means you do have to weigh up the high cost against lower fuel bills, so it may depend on how you plan on using the vehicle.
The entry level S version may be the cheapest, but to reflect this is the fact that it misses out on some equipment that you may consider to be essential, such as air conditioning. The SE trim is a good choice with alloy wheels; the SEL costs more, but does not offer that much more.
